In recent years, Da-Wu tribesmen and their school children have also begun to sing native-tongue ballads. Some of the songs are even selected for school singing competitions, encouraging Xie Yong-Quan’s attempts to create ballads. He eventually achieved the Da-Wu’s first native-tongue ballad album, realizing the hope of creating ballads in various ethnic dialects.
